I am wondering what people think of round bales v. square bales for feeding horses. I have a 15 acre field I would like to plant in hay. I have inside storage for some of the hay but could not store the whole crop. Could I get by with round bales? Or would they mildew too much and make the horses sick? I understand round bales are much less labor intensive.
Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
